It's cooled off a bit, temporarily at least.  Though I told myself I didn't have to go far (another sleepless night, dammit), I pushed myself to Shadow Point.  A cool breeze helped.

At last, a chance for an overnight trip.  We sailed all the way out the Severn to the mouth of the Magothy, finishing the rest of the trip to Eagle Cove under power.  As soon as we anchored, swimming!  Even in the rain, which wasn't much.  For a change, it was cool, and stayed so all night -- slept great and all the way to 8:30.

After dinner (tuna tacos), we got a visit from a nice couple from a boat named Lady Lulu.  Apparently, we -- at only 40 feet to their 50 -- dusted them under sail.  Turns out, we weigh half what they do.

Motored homw.  It was getting warm.

A perfect evening for a sunset/Happy Hour cruise on Heron out the South River.  Anchored in Aberdeen Creek for snacks and a bottle of frosty rose.

Hot and humid.  Sound familiar?  I managed to drag myself out of bed, drag myself to the dock, and drag myself out the creek and into the South River toward the Rt. 2 bridge.

I must be insane to go out in this weather, and yet I have.  Stayed in Crab Creek today.

Apparently not.  Crab Creek to Little Aberdeen.  Soaked in sweat.  Why do I do this?

Took Heron out for a spin and enjoyed the apparent wind we made, keeping ourselves from melting.  Ended up in the Rhode River, anchored near Whisper, and spent about 3 hours just floating.  Too hot to do anything else.

Expecting the worst in heat and humidity, it was a joy to find a breezy and warm morning.

Crab Creek to Church Creek.
