Friends from Sailing Club of the Chesapeake, Rob and Linda Leigh live on the Wye River, and always tell us to come visit, that we have our slip at their dock.  We finally took them up on it, NO WIND getting there from Annapolis, but watching the start of the Schooner Race, and the cloud formations makes for magic on the water taking you back in time!

Gallivant also joined us, and 8 of us had happy hour aboard Gallivant, owned by John Murray and Jill Hansen, and then amazing large crabs on their porch looking out at the water as the sun set.

After chatting on the porch the next day, Rob pushed us to anchor overnight at one of their favorite creeks on the Wye, Pickering Creek.  Rob and Linda have a beautiful Bristol 38 and due to physical limitations sail mostly with the jib, playing music, and taking it all in, savoring it.  We anchored, and saw no houses, just wildlife, fish jumping, and a million stars in the sky after dinner in the cockpit.  It doesn't get better than this!  We hung around until 2 pm Friday before heading back to Annapolis, an epic Sailng day, but we had to get home before dark due to our slip so didn't sail.  The cloud formations were like artwork in the sky, and just amazing!   We all need to take the time to discover the beautify of the many tributaries the Chesapeake has to offer, we couldn't see them all in a lifetime!
