Our friend, Laura, organized a boat renaming ceremony and party for our boat and 2 other boats. Ours was the most in violation of sailing without Neptune/Poseidon's approval! We changed the name from Kinship to Circe in spring of 2020 and our renaming ceremony and party was cancelled due to Covid. We are now finally a bit more safe from the sea's wrath!
Circe left our home dock in Mill Creek (Annapolis) on Sunday morning 4/24 to meet up with the others at a small marina on the Rhode River (Mayo side) where the other 2 boats lived. We only got to sail about 1.5 - 2 hours before the wind disappeared, but for a party, the warm weather was ideal.
The three newly named boats, after a ceremony presided over by Laura and involving much champagne:
- Circe - previously Kinship
- Noli Timere - previously Talisman
- Sally Forth - previously Old Diamond
Woinderful but cold sail back on Monday. Overcast but great steady winds to 12 and calm seas = speeds to 8.4!
A few shakedown issues were found and are now being addressed.
