Sonar at HYC getting ready for a January sail.
Hampton Yacht Club owns a fleet of Sonars. The Sonar is 23' keel boat that Bruce Kirby (think Laser.designed on a napkin) designed for his Connecticut yacht club. It is an excellent sailing club fleet boat.
So in the winter on tge Chesapeake Bay, we sail Sonars out of HYC on Sundays at 1200. This gets people on the water and uses club facilities during the winter.. this year HYC opened Club Sonar use to all members and their guest for no fee.
This is a tremendous way to promote One Design Sailing and introduce others to the sport. Come join us. I am always looking for guest to bring out on the water. Just hoping that sailing will be that "drug of choice" that makes your life better.
