Our anchorage on Saturday just south of Melbourne was great! We took the dinghy to a nearby well-recommended restaurant- a German place that definately lived up to the rave reviews. If you are ever in those parts, dear reader, be sure to find the Coconut Grove Cafe!

Sunday dawned beautifully and we were off to points northward.  The day was so pretty we just wanted to keep going!  However, we wanted a little beach time, so after passing the Kennedy Space Center, we found a great anchorage near the Apollo beaches and took the dinghy over.  Superb!

We got an early start Monday and hopped up to Daytona Beach, where we got a slip midday at the Halifax Harbor Marina. This is another excellent place with great people!  We were able to go by John Travolta's house, the historic downtown Daytona Beach, and get some provisions at the nearby Publix Grocery.  The marina was booked on Tuesday, so we had to be out by noon to accomodate other boaters.  We had an anchorage planned but when we arrived, we didnt like the looks of it- way too many houses around for our taste.  We are fans of anchorages where you arent on top of other people.  Because of that, we ended up travelling further than we had planned and wound up between Palm Coast and St Augustine. St Augustine.........

If you circle back to my very first post in this log, you will recall that last December-March, we travelled from Annapolis to St Augustine and back, heading northward in mid June.  Well friends, it appears that we have come to the point where Loopers call "crossing their wake."  This means that tomorrow when we arrive in St Augustine, we will have successfully circumnavigated the eastern third of the US--- In other words, we will have completed the Great Loop!!!!
