Sunfish Thimble Shoal Light race

11 Sunfish raced in the annual Thimble Shoal Light race. Winds were almost perfect before building in the middle of the bay. Close reach to very close reach to the light with winds 15 then 18. Speeds in the mid 6 knots all the way to the light. 7-8 on the broadf reach coming back. Neck and neck with Jay until right neat the light. He rounded first, I was second followed by John and Jamie. John passed me heading back. All three of us overstood the beach. I realized too late but while I was correcting I closed the gap significantly. Jay, John, me and Jamie. All times withing minutes of each other on a 6 mile race.
