Chesapeake sailors launch the season.
What a winter it’s been! During the long, cold days, members of the Chesapeake Bay Tartan Sailing Club (CBTSC) kept in touch with monthly happy hour Zoom meetings. But now, the ospreys are back, as is daylight savings time, and it’s time to get back out on the water.
We set the club’s event schedule for the 2026 season at our annual planning meeting. Attendance at the meeting was good, and the ideas were plentiful. The list of suggestions contained the “classic” rendezvous along with “nouveau” possibilities. We ended up with a full schedule that has something every month and several events in “high season” months.
The first event of the season was a Ladies Luncheon held on March 20 at the Annapolis Yacht Club. Some of the future events are listed below. For a full list check out cbtsc.org.
• May 23-25, Wye River Rendezvous with Eastport Yacht Club and other clubs
• May 26-June 14, Southern Bay Cruise
• June 24-30, Sail250 Maryland and Baltimore Air Show
• September 4, Crab Feast at Stan & Joe’s in the West River
