Anniversary cruise celebrates 47 years!
Anniversaries are a special time to celebrate a relationship, an accomplishment, a satisfying mission—and all of that is commemorated each June with a sailing cruise by Singles on Sailboats; it is called our Anniversary Cruise, and this year we had nearly 120 members in attendance.

Writing lyrics that chronicled the extensive list of former commodores of the club since 1978, our current commodore had everyone laughing with her Irish washerman tune, carrying it off while the dozen or so former commodores raised their champagne in a toast.
For an active nonprofit club to flourish, maintaining more than 400 members in these days of easy internet meetups and gatherings, says quite something. Our tagline, “Come for the sail, stay for the friendship” has stood the test of time and change, of a veteran membership always welcoming new arrivals, whether they be highly experienced crew or skippers or someone seeking an opportunity to safely get out on the water and learn about sailing.
Our robust summer cruising schedule is about halfway accomplished and has included many day sails, both weekday and weekend, a fabulous Extended Cruise to points South on the Bay, and weekend raftups in local creeks, as well as two parties. We look forward to several more weekend raftups, a couple of more long weekend and extended cruises, and a couple of short parties. We plan to end the season with the October St. Michaels Oyster Fest and a Blue Lips Cruise in early November.
We have a lot to celebrate and look forward to doing so for many more years. Check out our newsletter at singlesonsailboats.org.
