Busy Season for The Sailing Club, Inc.

It was an extremely busy autumn for The Sailing Club, Inc.

September 15-23 trip to San Francisco for the America’s Cup was in planning for two years and the lucky folks that participated aboard two Hunter 40s enjoyed that up close and personal experience of a lifetime.  Although the weather didn’t always cooperate, the opportunity to sail alongside Oracle for a short, a very short, section of the course made up for it.

The October trip out of Rock Hall’s Haven Charters to Baltimore Inner Harbor lucked out with great weather October 19-21 with excellent wind, crew and food!  A rendezvous in Baltimore with the Philadelphia Sailing Club rounded out the event.  The picture below is of the combined group of sailing friends – TSC and PSC in Baltimore.

30 Year Anniversary Celebration:

The Sailing Club members past and present gathered November 9,2013 to honor its founders.  The club was the brain child of Jim Nixon.  Supported by his wife, Jan, and along with some co-workers, he developed the style of our bare boat charter trips that serves our members well today.   Trips are planned as safe sail cruising with a balance of land activities.  Toasts and speeches along with a very funny slide show were presented.  The stories from of the early trips had folks roaring with laughter.
