Back Creek YC Teddy Bear's Picnic

What is nicer than a Summer’s Day in June?  On June 11th, a BCYC midweek event, “that was the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic.” It was “Picnic time for Teddy Bears – the little Teddy Bears are having a lovely time today; watch them, catch them unawares, and see them picnic on their holiday.”  Joined by about 20 members (and 12 assorted Teddy Bears) the Picnic was held on the shores of Crab Creek, hosted by Molly and Wally Stone.  “See them gaily gad about; they love to play and shout, they never have any care. “  Even the Annapolis weather cooperated, and a strong thunderstorm that afternoon, dodged around the festivities that lasted until nightfall.  Summer Solstice was celebrated on June 21-22 at Harrington Harbor South for a pork loin barbecue and dancing at a 1950’s sock hop party.  Fourth of July Fireworks were watched by 40 club members at Westbrook and Cindy Murphy ‘s dock at Almshouse Creek on the South River.  The next day, 80 members partook of victuals at our annual Lobster Feast, across the South River on Crab Creek.  On July 17th, two dozen members had dinner and attended the performance of “I do, I do” by the Infinity Theatre Group of Annapolis.  On July  26-27, the Club held a raft up on the Wye River.  On August 16-17, the Club will travel to the Chesapeake Yacht Club on the West River for a cookout and games during the weekend.
