Lovely weather mid 80s, pretty decent wind as well (5-10 kts), though very extreme fluctuations between N and W. Made docking quite QUITE tricky, but we managed at the T head and also in the slip on a second try. 3.5hrs.

Just a really particularly fun night with students. Lovely weather, decent breeze, great students. Low 90s, 5-10kts (patchy though) NW

Both students did a practice downwind docking at the T head before heading into the slip, but then the wind shifted to solidly N mid sail drop and we were making too much leeway. No problem, hoisted the jib and explained this is why we keep it handy. Sigh. Turned around and came back in, blew the jib and docked just fine. It was pretty tricky tbh and am really pleased at how well my student did at the tiller. He was quite anxious but did awesome.

Took sonar #8 out with 5 crew to race. We did ok in the first race but had a lot of trouble getting started in the second and third. Wind was nice, 8-10 SW. 5-8:30

Horrendously low wind. We did finish though, and were ahead of Barebones for a long time. They eventually overtook us but we came in just one place behind. (6/10 in our class) About 8 hours underway total. Wind 2-6 kts , ESE ish ?

Was very surprised rc didn't cancel tonight, but wind was fairly low while we were out and lightning was just starting on final leg of the race. I was on mast instead of jib, and I think I like it up there on Chessie. Did get a tap to the head from the boom on a jibe, but only just. If I had been standing up more or been any further back on the boat it would have been really bad. Not sure how I'm supposed to run the clew of the spinnaker back without passing the shrouds though...

Taught my first actual complete intro (no student had ever been on a boat before) class and it went great! Wind was low but actually not terrible, around 6 pretty consistently once we got out of the patchiness by dominoes. I was so proud of their docking! :-D Mid 80s and cooled off a bit later. Wind 6ish SE. Just about 4hrs with prep and derigging.

Got a little rest after the regatta after party. Semi-snoozing on the cockpit floor with a towel and sleeping bag and pillow. Departed 3:05am, arrived 9am. Lovely lovely night. Cool, some breeze, waning moon but still plenty of light.

What a great event. Wind was a bummer, but could have been (a little) worse. The heat was a lot though. Had an amazing time learning the rigging on barebones. LOVE the inhaul set up so much. Met lots of new people both on the boat and at the party.
Managed 3 short course races with no serious errors or screwups. I was pretty sure we had done amazingly well, but since our rating was so low compared to others in our class there was a chance that we hadn't finished far enough ahead of everyone else to actually win the races. Anyway, am now a huge fan of Sunfasts apparently. I could use a little cushioning on the bunks for longer races though...

high 80s (at least, and very very humid) wind 2-6 SE, 6ish hours.

Crewed for Jordan to get the boat down for tomorrow's regatta. Very smooth trip, and ahead of schedule. Pretty hot, minimal wind (s-ish but just a couple knots) and humid. Took about 6hrs.

Poi rescheduled due to low wind and thunderstorms, but actually the weather cleared and wind picked up enough (E 5-7 at the upper end) that I decided to go out and practice anyway. It was absolutely lovely out past dominos, but I still did several excruciatingly slow quick stops in front of DSC, then sailed out to Anchorage and did a few there, and then was having so much nice wind, I went up to the turning basin and did a couple there. Getting home was even fine because the wind shifted to the south and it was pretty much a beam reach the whole way back. Did a couple more slow POBs at dominos, then decided to drop the main out side of the fingers and go in jib only. It was glorious. I un crossed the jib sheets but left them tied together and with a single wrap on each respective winch. Then I stood up at the back of the cockpit behind the boom, and held the tiller extension vertically with one hand, and the jib "reins" with the other and experimented with tacking and jibing that way. It works SO well! I'm not sure it would be so great in really high wind because the jib never quite completely gets totally released with the tied sheets. Maybe if I do a sheet bend and release the connection as I turn downwind into the slip? Anyway, it was pretty cool. Took forever to roll the sails up and put everything away because it was so hot I kept getting sweat in my eyes and needing a break.
