  • Exit Strategy in slip E1 at CBMM

We made our first visit to St. Michaels in the past 2-3 seasons. Decided to get a membership at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum that offers docking privileges for supporters. The cruise down was extra smooth on the Bay, Eastern Bay, and especially on the glassy Miles River. We grabbed a couple of bikes at CBMM and had a great lunch at Corah's Corner and then a lively chat with some other visitors at Carpenter St. Saloon. Tony the bartender was entertaining and friendly.

Heading to Michigan for a week in the morning so this is the last photo of the Bay Area. Look for images from Lake Michigan as I get on the water with boating friends up there.

Followed Capt Tom to Prestige travel lift for a short haul and powerwash. Tied up at City Dock to grab b'fast at Chick and Ruth's then went up to Severn to see J. Evans and cruise by Smith Marina. By the time we returned to Back Creek, The SeaBorn 26 was ready to go.

Sunrise was nice but not spectacular. We supplemented things with a fast run out to see some of the frieghters queued up in the main channel on their way to Port of Baltimore. I'm calling this series "Behemoths of the Bay" and some of these shots will wind up in an upcoming series of photo notecards I'm working on.
