Bft 2 descending to dead calm. Some very nice sailing, then had to motor in.
Roughly an hour of night sailing (well, mostly motoring, but navigating by the blinking lights . . .)

Work day on Imidiwan -- retreieved the halyard from Saturday, and attempted (unsucessfully) to install a windex and (successfully) a flag halyard. I tightened the shrouds and installed cotter pins, and as the wind had picked up a little, and was forecast to be 6-8 knots, we decided to go out.

And got our butts kicked -- winds were double that and we had too much sail. I broached Imidiwan and we failed to reef properly under duress.

But we learned a lot, gybed home with no problems, sailing off the wind and went to Cantler's for yummy crabs although the battery didn't charge. Total sail of about 9nm.

Fitful winds -- we watched the Coast Guard windvane shift 60 degrees as we approached the 1AH mark. We were trying to sail too close to the wind, and not gybing aggressively enough, which ended up dragging us too far to the east. As we started running into the wind and making our way up the Bay and finally getting good wind, the jib shackle snapped (probably I didn't lock it well.)

In spite of my mistakes, great day out on the water and learned a lot, and made 15nm under the keel.

Beaufort 3 consistent all day from the South, and we went under the bridge, saw dolphins in the Bay (first time for me), past Love Point up into the Chester River, back under the bridge (caught in an eddy and tapped a pylon) and then to Cantler's for meal and recharge the batteries. Over 35 miles sailed, and more than a bit of it at 5 1/2 knots. GPS had top speed over 7 knots -- probably a little bit of surfing on some 3-5 foot following seas. (If Bay waves can be called seas.)

Rowed out to Imidiwan and dove her hull. Might have done something else. But I found a picture of me off the dock, so I know I did something.
