First sail of the year - The Sunfish One Fish for a ride out into the Bay, then into the Magothy. Fresh breeze, nice ride, got in before the storm front came in.
Century Club: Keith Chapman
Sunset SUP. Little Magothy Inlet Marks to beach, then Little Magothy Tour. Tried new fin from the 28" board to see if different - board did feel less draggy with better glide. 26" board still off pace of 28" board.
Sunset SUP. Little Magothy Inlet Marks to Little Magothy Tour.
Picked up a new to me SUP - a used Starboard Allstar 14x26. Had been wanting to try a one size narrower than my current 28" wide. The new board has the same shape as my current board, so any differences should be mostly due to width. Took it on an initial ride, did two actually - first was a Little Magothy tour, then did a short run up the shore and back. Was expecting better performance than I got. Maybe I'm too heavy for the width...
Morning SUP. Little Magothy Inlet marks to a LM Tour. Spotted the geese in the Osprey stand.
Finally out on the water for 2025! Afternoon SUP to the Little Magothy Inlet Marks to a LM Tour. Spotted a kayak in the marshes at the top of the river, pulled it out of the marsh and towed it home. Good to be back on the water!
New Years Eve SUP. Little Magothy Inlet Marks, LM tour, Inlet Marks and beach. Chatted with waterfront friends and fishing neighbors. Bald Eagles and Kingfishers, and a beautiful and peaceful immersion in Mother Nature to close out the year, despite the forecast. 2024 boating is a wrap, getting 100 this year was tougher than others for no particular reasons and many particular reasons despite well laid plans at the beginning of the year. Not much sailing. Perhaps the New Year will be better. Cheers to all my Water Brethren here on the Spinsheet 100 and to all the ones not as well! Tomorrow we start again!
Sunset SUP. Liesurely ride out to the Little Magothy Inlet Marks to a LM tour. Very beautiful evening, took time to talk to neighbors fishing and just take things in. Not much for any birds around, except for the always active Kingfishers.
Christmas Eve sunset SUP. To Lake Claire Green Mark and back. All was calm.
Morning SUP before work. Southerly breeze for an upwind downwind workout. Buffleheads, Kingfishers, Starlings, Canada Geese, and the pair of Bald Eagles. Day 100!
