Morning SUP before work. Little Magothy Inlet Marks to LM Tour.
Maintenance day - spring readiness work for the Whaler - oil change, plug change, gear oil change.
Happy Hour Sunset SUP. Little Magothy Inlet Marks to short LM tour, then drift with a sunset toast of the CSC Beach.
Spent day removing abandoned Hobie 16 from community property. De-rigged, collected the parts and gear, and removed from critical beach restoration area. Cleaned boat and organized parts, and delivered to the Youth Sailing Storage area for the hopes that it will either be used by the program or sold for money to support the program.
Checked on friend's boat again ahead of more rough weather - more water. Pumped out, and then set auxiliary pump in the bilge with extension cord running to the bow so that the boat could be pumped without the risk of boarding.
Went to check on the trimaran and found friend's boat on the verge of sinking. The winds were around 30kts from the south, and waves were breaking over the transom and flooding the boat. Tried several attempts to pump it out, had two pumps running but couldn't keep ahead. Had to abandon efforts as she swamped. Was able to move her bow over so the waves were breaking more on the side and so the line between the slips was supporting her. Went back later after the wind died down and was able to pump her out and get her back properly in her slip.
Morning SUP. Little Magothy Inlet marks to LM tour. After yesterday's birdapolosa, the LM was quiet with almost no bird activity. Quite a contrast to yesterday.
