Technically it was a day on the water, but I just went from the boat ramp to the slip a few hundred feet away. Dock lines were adjusted and we're ready for warmer weather and getting on plane on the Severn.

I took my small fiberglass canoe from the community dock to my sailboat on a mooring ball to check things out. The canoe is short with little freeboard which made boarding a little tricky - especially with the water temperature. The boat on the ball has done well through the winter. A short paddle back and another day on the water chalked up.

While clearing a trail to our community dock, I moved an old aluminum canoe. Finding it to be intact, I got a paddle and life jacket and put her in the water. After a few minutes of paddling near shore I noticed a trickle coming from the bow. Good sense caused me to reverse course and return to dock. On shore I found a screw that wasn't an original that I figured was the source of the leak. A little sealant should render her sea worthy.

A little work and a bit of play. I took advantage of a warm day in March to prep a boat slip from the kayak. A dixyland jazz band was playing on the beach for a birthday party and I enjoyed a short paddle over to the beach.

Took a short cruise from my slip to the mooring ball to check on the other boat.
