Morning sail around Mattox Creek.
Century Club: AJ Batcheller
Karen and I kayaked to the sunken sailboat in hopes of salvaging some of the fittings. Unfortunately, the boat had been abandoned too long and I was only able to loosen one fitting and managed to salvage the backstay shackle. Oh well, I got a shackle and a day on the water out of it.
Nice afternoon sail on Mattox Creek.
Karen went kayaking, I went paddleboarding mid-morning on Mattox Creek.
Strong breeze from the west pushed me quickly out to the Potomac. I felt safe and invigorated much like aggressively skiing a black diamond back when I was young.
I was originally going to paddleboard today, but I couldn’t pass up a nice breeze hence I sailed out towards the Potomac until the Dahlgren Naval Range boat stopped by to let me know the range was open today and stay close to shore. Decided to play it safe and return home.
Just enough wind to move me around Mattox Creek at about 3 knots.
Put our pontoon boat, The Kiwi Kruzer, in the water today and motored out to the Potomac. It counts as a day on the water, but I’d rather be sailing.
