Sail with Carolyn from The Rhode River to Tilghman Creek, spent the night and sailed back home. Was able to sail most of the way there but motored the last little bit to make it before sundown. Clear and quite cool in the night. A nice sail back but the wind lightened during the last downwind leg home.
Singlehanded sail from the Rhode River. Original plan was to go towards Annapolis but when I got to West River #2 there was a large wind shift so I headed towards Eastern Bay. Once I got past WR #1 the wind died for about an hour, but came back so was able to make it to the mouth of Eastern Bay before heading back.
Sail with Carolyn from the Rhode River past Eastern Bay #2 to near the shore and back. Cool clear day with good winds.
Singlehanded sail from the Rhode River to the southern tip of Kent Island and back. Clear, sunny day with nice winds and temperatures in the low 50's. Put in a single reef since the apparent wind was hitting 23kn in the gusts.
Singlehanded sail from the Rhode River to the mouth of the Severn River and back. A bit gusty today - just when you think the wind settled down it came back with a vengence.
Singlehanded sail from the Rhode River. Originally planned on sailing north, but the wind shifted so changed plans to go towards southern Kent Island. Further wind shifts ended up sending me south down the bay. The wind shifts totalled around 120 degrees. No problems with the engine.
Replaced the raw water pump impeller on the diesel engine. Took apart some of the hoses to track down some of the missing vanes from the dead impeller. Changed the engine oil since the engine had overheated. Tested the engine by running the engine in gear in the slip for 20 minutes with no problems.
Singlehanded sail from the Rhode River to Eastern Bay #2 and back. Nice winds - the strongest I've sailed in this season. On the return trip while dropping the sails the engine overheated. Turned off the engine and sailed into the slip. Raw water impeller was missing 3 vanes.
Overnight with Carolyn in Dividing Creek. Motorsailed to the Wye, then motored to Dividing Creek. Leaving, motored out of the Wye, motorsailed to Eastern Bay #6 and sailed the rest of the way home.
