Ran the Viking to a private Island that has an old Chesapeake mansion and compound on it that is being restored by its new owner. Got a little stormy on the ride home.
Century Club: Sean Martin
Spent the week on the water doing various projects including attaching 120 mooring balls to their sandscrew anchors.
Moved Terrapin Station and various other boats around, fueled them and prep them. Run up the river to Mikes for lunch
After scraping, sanding, two-part priming, and bottom painting the tri-toon it is finally ready to go back into the water. Turns out it is literally twice as fast without those barnacles on there.
Cruise out to Thomas Point Lighthouse and the Naval Academy.
Those high winds blew some stuff away, knocked over palm trees and tore the canvas top on one of our boats!
I took the skiff over to the boat ramp from the marina to pull it out of the water for the next few days due to the wind forecast. We're supposed to get 30 sustained gusting as high as 60. I need to do an oil change and some gelcoat repair from that storm last fall where it banged into the dock.
Went for a little cruise on thew skiff to the inlet and then dinner at OC Wasabi. Yum
Ran home Saturday night for a minute, then drove through the rain to come right back to Annaoplis Sunday for the Spinsheet crew listing party. For some reason I thought it was a Century Club party too, oops. Missed seeing a few old friends who left when it rained, but made a few new ones. Got back to the marina just in time to hop on a boat and go fishing with some friends and catch the sunset.
Finished up fairing and prepping Terrapin Station for a new color of paint on the hull. Awlgrip "Marlin Blue" rolled and tipped. Came out pretty good. Also finished the hateful job of getting all the barnacles off of the alumunium tubes on the TriToon. Sanded down to bare metal and two-part barrier coated. Petit Protect rolled out pretty nice.
Working in the yard scraping barnacles, sanding, some epoxy work and prepping for paint. And, oh yea, managed to run around on the river every day too. Sea-trialed SoulShine after some new motor mounts went in (way smoother!) Put some new trim tabs on the Apex inflatable and dropped her in the water. Ran up to Mikes a few times. Daisy our new mascot built a nest in an old piling. Good times in the marina.
