Heading across the bay to work on the moorings
Century Club: Sean Martin
That time of the year. Putting on the wetsuit to install moorings in Assawoman Bay.
It was a rough and tumble week out there and I pretty much crashed out for hours just sitting in a deck chair after being up for 36 hrs straight. Got a cool T-shirt out of the deal though
Spent the week running crew out to the EVERGREEN ship "Ever Foward". Pretty amazing watching the pro crew out there getting that ship unstuck.
Bachelorette party charter on the 46' Carmen followed by a 50th birthday party on the 50' Viking
Working on some of the bigger boats this week. Starting to get warm enough to get some topside paint on some repairs on the Carmen 46'. Also de winterized the 50' Viking and ran her around the river. Filleed all the big boats with diesel before the prices go up.
Another three day and night session of working, playing and sleeping on boats
Took a couple out on their new StarCraft 23. We met the dealer at the 64th st boat ramp in Ocean City and put the boat in the water. We headed south pass the route 90 Bridge and Past the route 50 bridge. It's pretty good spot to teach people about channel markers because as soon as you cross the ocean city inlet the markers change and really emphasizes the "red-right-returning" (Which I've always thought is somewhat confusing) We also went to the gas dock at Fisherman's marina So that they could familiarize themselves with fueling up the boat. (Yep gas prices are north of five bucks this year at the fuel dock). Then we headed up into the St Martin's River And practiced anchoring up at a sandy little shallow water spot where people go in the summer. It was a pretty nice day out a little bit chilly but the sun was shining except for a couple quick little rain showers. Then we took the boat back to their condo in Ocean City and put it on the lift (There was already checked out by somebody else and adjusted to fit the new boat) Show them how to flush out the motor with freshwater and rinse her down. All in a days work. #lovewhatyoudoanditdoesntseemlikework
While we are re-doing the bottoms on a few boats, The tritoon seems to be the vessel of choice for the lunch-run up to Mikes Country Store on the South River.
