It was a great afternoon for a kayak run.... low 80's, only light wind out of the south. I paddled to the flagpole at Breezy Point and back. I hosed off the kayak when I got back.

On a light-air evening on the Pax River, with a short-handed but very talented crew, Sailing Team Barba Roja came together together to get the job done in the SMSA Wednesday Night Race!

For 2 days, Paula and I had spectacular weather on the Pax River. With northeasterly breezes both days, we spent a cool night on the hook anchored in a new, favorite spot in Battle Creek.
Wednesday Night Racing - Solomons Sailing Association style!
Good, tight racing at the mark tonight! (It was real close!) That’s me on the helm of Barba Roja. It’s truly an honor to be taking the wheel on this sailboat!
Thank you Sailing Team Barba Roja! #sailingteambarbaroja #poppabobscanvas
We had a great father/son/granddaughter sail up past Patience Point and back. Shannon and Erin did great handling the helm!
We fought hard to find the find on tge way up the river. We finally succeeded and a great "take down" and a great tack shortly thereafter, provided us with some great sailing, with yours truly at the helm for much of the day!
Well, we are still struggling to find our groove. We still got out there and raced, though.
After helping a friend look at a boat she was buying, I took tge Aloha Spirit out for a quick 3-mile ride. Today, my Dad, who awaken the sailing gene in me, would have been 90 years old. Upon getting back to the dock, I had a Crown Royal on tge rocks, while toasting Glenn R. Ohler. Happy Birthday, Dad
Well, we have not been able to put together a complete "mistake-free" race lately. We finished second again to our rival.
Paula and I sailed with Dave & Karen in the Patuxent Basin. The wind never quite materialized but the four of us took advantage of the opportunity and sailed together, just the 4 of us, one more time!
