A quick visit from our friend Neill who lives in Florida was a great reason to get out on the boat. Short pit stop in Ego Alley from some provisions from Mills, and off we went for a trip up the Severn. Spring like temps and flat calm weather made for a perfect early evening cruise.

Another great day on the water on Rum Puppy. Awesome start and led the fleet to the first mark. Lost a couple boats in the short tacking into the harbour but ended up a respectable 3rd overall.

I always say that "barefoot on the boat" is my happy place ..... so today was clearly a happy day. Crazy warm temperatures made that barefoot feeling (at least after racing) a reality. Puffy shifty breeze made for some fun racing today and a tight competitive fleet as always for the j105s. Not our best result due to an unexpected encouter with the bottom that made us lose a couple boats, but a fantastic day to be on the water none the less.

As this is our first power boat after always having owned sail boats, the more frequent trips to the fuel dock are definitely not the favorite part of power boat ownership. Fortunately our boat really just sips the diesel, but we hadn't added fuel since november and it was time to get some diesel. As always the super friendly staff at the Annapolis Marina fuel dock made the process as pleasant as can be! and another great excuse for a short trip out on the boat and trip down Ego Alley.

High School sailing team tryouts today so another great excuse to get on the boat, After a short cruise we watched the FJs and cheered on Hayden as she skippered an FJ for the first time in the school team tryouts. Super happy to report she made the varsity team!!! Also a chance to see our new cockpit cushions installed.

After a chilly and breezy sail yesterday, today was calm and warm. After a morning of tennis, we went on the boat for a blast around the bay and cruised up Spa Creek, Ego Alley and up the Severn. What a weekend - racing, tennis, and a power boat ride (is this the Annapolis version of a triathlon).
