5:30. A little windy and rough out but not bad. Past few days have been incredibly windy. I'm very behind in getting my days on the water because of the crappy weather we've had since, well, since November. Paddled out to middle of creek and to marker 7. A big boat passed fairly close and created a roller coaster wake. Otherwise uneventful. A little chilly out and had to wear a sweatshirt.

What a lousy spring this had been. Cold, windy, rainy. Rain was threatening but seemed warm and calm enough to go out in the afternoon. Of course the temperature really dropped once I was out there. Alan was out sailing and I met up with him. Paddled about mostly aimlessly.
The past few weeks have been crazy cold and wizard of Oz windy. Today, temps actually hit 88, so my trusty kayak and I went out for a paddle around the creek. Gorgeous out.
It has been so windy this past week there was no way anyone was venturing out on the water. But I was doing yard work in the afternoon and it seemed so warm in the sun, with mild breezes. So I grabbed my kayak and got out on the water. Turned out to be a lot windier than I thought, bur there I was. Went around the point where it was a little calmer and paddled about. I watched a bald eagle fly about who suddenly dove toward the water to presumably to eat h a fish, but he came up empty. They are too fast to get a decent pic so I didn't even try. I started to get cold as the temp dropped and the wind picked up so headed back. My teeth were chattering by the time I secured my kayak. Got in the house and it was 64 degrees. Too cold for me plus I was wet..
Picked the pontoon boat up from the marina, I had paid $$ last fall to have it shrink wrapped, to protect it when in storage, which fell off sometime during the winter, so the boat was exposed to the elements for a few months. It was pretty dirty so I guess I know what I'm doing in the coming days, deep cleaning the boat. But we took it out into the Potomac and just cruised around. I have missed this boat.
Went out with friend Michelle to paddle about, she on her paddle board, and me in kayak. Nice day, not as warm as it's been, but beautiful day. Pretty windy tho with very strong gusts. We were out for about 2 hours and traveled about 3 miles.
A 6:00 PM kayak, I've never gone out so late but it was hot and sunny all day and I have to avoid the sun due to 4 bouts of skin cancer, but it was a beautiful evening. Unfortunately, I fell into the water while getting into the kayak, something I have never done before in the 26 years I have been kayaking.. double unfortunately along with my 3 week old iPhone and Apple Watch. Phone acted weird for a while, calling people I didn't mean to, old texts popping up like they were new, and getting stuck in a video mode I couldn't get out of. And my watch keeps showing the water drop on it and I don't know how to get water out of it, such a pain. But I was determined to get out on the water so zi kayaker around the old duck blind and saw 2 nesting osprey.
Went out for a kayak earlier than usual as it was going to be windier this afternoon. Nice and warm, April is the craziest month. Got some good pics of an eagle in his favorite tree.
Warmer days are here again! Up to 80 today. Haven’t been able to go out for a kayak past week due to 15 mph winds, so was homeward bound. But today was beautiful so got the kayak out and paddled around the creek. The wind came up and made it challenging, but made it. Saw the usual gang of critters..
Beautiful day out, up to 87 degrees. So ready for summer. Spent about an hour cleaning out the sand that got into kayak from last fall in the. October storms that practically buried my vessel.Windy on the water once I went around the bend towards Placid Bay. Went out to the trees across the creek to see if my eagles were there, but I didn't see them or their nest. It was hard to look tho due to the 8 foot swells bouncing the kayak about, I couldn't even take a picture. Well, they felt like 8foit swells. Got a few pics once got back home.
