Crazy humid today, being outside for just a few minutes drenched my clothes. Kayaked across the creek to check out the bald eagle nest but didn't see them. Caught a few pics of other wildlife tho. Quiet on the creek for it being a Sunday. Guess the humidity was keeping everyone inside.

2nd attempt to get up on a paddleboard. Not so successful this time. Could only stay for for a very short time. Poor technique on my part. Not sure why I was able to get up AND stay up the first time.
We completed all drills, knots, we both aced the written test, and by end of the day we were officially ASA 101 certified. Spent the day just sailing around Lord Baltimore bay having fun. Wind was good in the am, kinda got squirrely by the early afternoon.
More sailing around Solomons Island. Extremely hot day, too sunny. Practiced MOB drills.
Read about Sail Solomons sail school in spin sheet mag so gave Alan (and me) a 3 say course to certify us in ASA 101. Today was day 1. Went out on a Catalina 22 and practiced maneuvers, vocabulary, definitions and to finesse our tacking and jibbing.
Took each kid out on a kayaking adventure. Super hot day, 95 outshine the kids played on the beach and in the water. Had 3 swans come up on the beach looking for food.
Every afternoon lately has been really windy. Makes kayaking quite the challenge. Porpoise over the waves going out into the creek, essentially surfed coming home. A little unnerving. Now time for a mojito.
Prob shouldn't have gone out, but had to get these days on the water. Very windy, high waves (for me) even white caps in the creek. Ventured out for a short paddle, tried to go into the wind, but waves were too high so turned around and went around the bend where it was a bit calmer. Saw a heron on a dock. Nice paddle until I tried to come back, had to paddle into the wind and cresting waves with herculean force. But made it back and alls well that ends well.
Very warm day, high 80s and humid. But I love the heat. Kayaked past party cove to see if there was a water outlet for the Ebb Tide river (when it rains the water runs over the road into a very wooded pond). But I couldn't find it, so I guess the pond is pretty much land locked.
Alan took me out for a sail out into the Potomac, good wind, hot out.
