Out racing in Herring Bay. Nice breezy night. Had luff of main adjusted by Chesapeake Sailmakers and rake of mast adjusted by local East Coast Rigging. Breeze was up above 15kt and we should have still reefec. We were moving fast to the line and OCS for the second week in a row. Dang. Having lots of fun sailing double handed with Steve.
OCS! Close to the line! Guess my repair bowsprit nosed over. An awesome evening to sail.
Tested the new mainsheet setup and recalibrated the autopilot. Nice wind to start, but fell off as the afternoon went on..
Left Town Point Marina and Sailed out to Herring Bay. Enjoyed the sail and tested the new single-handed running rigging. Need bags for the lines in the cockpit.
installed revarnished floorboards and cushions. additonal safety gear installed on boat. Also, relocated fluxgate for autopilot, as it was not installed properly by a prior owner.
measured location and measured for bolts for new main sheet traveller cam cleats. installed new cam cleats for traveler.
heated the gasket on the dash of car with defroster running. this helped it strech. then used a paint scraper to wedge the gasket in the grove.
Also setup nav station with amateur radio email. tested tx and rx of email over tuned rigging as antenna.
repaired old sailcover until I make the new one. hanked on main (without battens) for final fitting.
