Added new stainless lifelines and gates on starboard for the finger pier at the slip. Steve and Bill helped. Glad we did it on the hard. Dropped a nut or two on the ground. Would have lost them in the water.
After a few weekends of measuring, fabricating, and prototyping, we got the main frame of the bimini installed, Plan is to support a couple 100W+ solar panels.
Reinstalled electronics with pod on the binnacle. With the heigh lowered 6", can still clearly see compass and see over binnacle rail much better and can see down into cabin. Way Better!
After working on this a few weekend with other tasks, completed installation of compass. Sanding of binnacle by Dave, Paint by Steve, then Rich and I tapped a new bold thread and installed compass and wiring. Needed to modify base of compass frame for wire, then sealed the base with marine silicone.
The binnacle frame rail was lowered about 7" as well. It will be a better height.
Removed old wiring form log and splced in new wire to instruments. Another multi-weekend activity. Old wires were brittle. Had to splice in new wires, but consolidated 2 wires to 1 wire harness and all instruments worked! Crew Member Steve was a big help.
Did some work on the rudder. Not perfect, but addressed a few issues. Also repaired some gel coat on edges for transom at waterline. Also aligned the rudder and tie rod adjusted for spoke of wheel at top dead center with Rich.
With help from crew member Rich, we repaired the crack in the bow pulpit! This took 3 weekends between removal, measuring, and fitting.
Removed POD Wiriing for work to cut and lower binnacle frame rail.
