Taking advantage of better than forecase weather and going into Phase 2. Karen, Walt and Collette took the power boat, Dolphin Dreamer for a trip to Tidewater exploring the Elizbeth river. Went to Warwick Yacht Club and then to the Belminton Bridge and back. Had dinner at Beir Garden in Portsmouth. Put the boat in at Ft Monroe. Back in Mill Creek we watched the protests and then went back to HYC for the night. Spent the night on Wine Down and then took the power boat out again on Saturday for a trip over to the beach at Grandview. Private beach with sunshade and lawn chairs. Even Summer the dog had fun. Back at HYC for another night.

Jamie and I sailed at lunch time. Winds were decent when we started and were suppose to reamain nice but they died out. Light wind beating all the way down to R4 back and forth. I was a little faster and higher on starboard. Jamie was way higher on port. So even though I was slightly faster I couldn't get pat him. On the last tack he covered me right on the lay line. I was faster on both downwinds though and I beat him back to the beach.

Strong gusty west winds. 15-20. Rach out to R1 in the Bay and then beat to R4 and downwind to the beach. Planning the entire way back form R4r. Great day for the Sunfish.

Jamie. Jerry, Kellie and I. Winds were too strong after launch so Kellie and Jerry bailed. Jamie was faster on the beat to windward but he tacked past the lay line and I was way ahead on the reach and the run was a fast blast to the beach.

Karen and I took Wine Down and joined Steve and Lynda on Bay Dreamer. Sailed over to Tidewater and spent the night. Walked around Portsmouth and had a few beers at the Bier Garden. Cool but very enjoyable sail over. We managed to sail up the entire Elizabeth River without tacking. Still had the full enclosure up on the boat so even in the cooler temperatures were comftable on the water and at the dock. Motored back on Monday after a leisurely breakfast. Great weekend with great company.
