I traveled on a friend's boat to Cape Charles for the 4th. We had a great time and the weather actually cooperated! The temps were lower and the humidity was great. We did end up motoring over but had a really nice sail back in 10-15 knots on the beam.

We left Ft Monroe Friday for Portsmouth. We had a great time both Friday and Saturday evenings at the race parties! We can forgive the weather raining on us as we were awarded 3 place in the Cruising 1 fleet! The awards are insulated cups! I think having a functionl trophy is great! I don't need trophys on the shelf! Sunday was a motor home with a surprising 18-20 knot breeze crossing the harbor.
We went out about 5pm with a light wind. I was able to fly a new to me asemetrical spinnaker for the first time. The wind finally fell out completely and we motored back to the slip about 7:30.
I sailed on a friends Hunter 37.5 named Old Crow for the Southern Bay Race Week. We left his slip on Friday heading to Hampton Yacht Club. We raced Saturday in 20-30 knots, we got a 4th place. Sunday we sailed in 5 knots and earned a 2nd. We were surprised to recieve 2nd overall for the weekend! We sailed back to his slip Monday, dodging Submarines tugs and crain barges. Had a good weekend!
My son Adam and I went out ont eh bay for a couple of hours. Beautiful day with light winds.
Scotty and I took another nice day and went for a sail
Went sailing on Black Dog with Scotty. Nice day on the water!
We sailed Black DOg in the annual ROund the Lights Race. This is an 18.5 mile race around Middle Ground light and Thimble shoals light that starts and finishes off the Old Point Comfort Marina.
Black Dog Took First Place!
