I raced in the Cape Charles Cup this past weekend. Saturday was rainy and windy, 2 hour delay on the start. We finally started and the Jib Halyard failed after 50 yards! We withdrew and came back to the slip to re-run the halyard. Sundays race started slow and ended in big waves, rain and strong wind. I finished 3rd in my fleet but my whisker pole snapped in half just after I finished the race...Not a good weekend for the boat!

OPCYC held a social distancing race where all boats started 2 minutes apart! They also gave each boat 60 seconds credit at the start. You lost credit for each second elapsed before you crossed the start line. We won the start with 14 seconds between our start time and when I actually crossed the line. We took 5th over all on corrected time. Not great but a fun race!
We went out on my friends boat in very light air. It was supposed to be a race bt the race was called due to light air. It was more of a float than a sail!
We went out and managed to sail thru a squall. 30-40 knots at least. Boat did great! Nice sail...
We took my granddaughter and her two cousins out for a sail across the harbor today. We left Ft Monroe and sailed across and up the Elisibeth River to look at the Navy ships then sailed back while enjoying lunch onboard. Nice day but hot!
Went sailing with three friends Wednesday evening. Nice weather and great sailing conditions!
My Son, his wife and I sailed the OPCYC Yankee Station race on Saturday. Beautiful day for racing! We rounded the first mark in 2nd place and kept that position the whole race.
It was really great to have Adam and Dana along with me!
Went Sailing Wednesday evening with a few friends. We didn't race but had a great sail around the harbor!
We took my 4 year old granddaughter for a sail on the Bay. We sailed down the beach at Ft Monroe looking at all the people then sailed out for a close look at Thimble Shoals Light. Nice day on the water!
We raced Saturday with the Old Point Comfort Yacht Club. Started out around 6-10 and finished at 15+. Absolutely beautiful day for sailing, not too hot and very calm water. Literally smooth sailing, perfect conditions. Finished 2nd out of the club boats, first in the cruising fleet.
