Morning SUP. Towards Podickory Pt, then Little Magothy tour.
Century Club: Keith Chapman
Friday night YCCSC Race. With Greg, very light, used screacher for jib. Nice sunset and moonrise!
Evening SUP. Little Magothy tour. Lots of dead rockfish washed up on beach at Little Magothy inlet.
Before work. Little Magothy leisurely pace. Sky overcast again, perhaps this is smoke from the wildfires like last year. Today the air belonged to the Barn Swallows and Purple Martins - lots of low-level aerobatics, and hanging out on my masthead… Also an active pair of Kingfishers.
Wednesday Night MRSA Race. With Dan, a bit of dodgy forecast with TS watch and SCA, but ended up with light conditions in river, stayed in contact with F-33 until into 2nd lap, but still corrected for the win! Afterwards ran screacher out into Bay where the wind was up from the north, close reach at 14.5 kts before calling it a night.
Before work. Persimmon Pt to Little Magothy inlet middle marks and Little Magothy tour. Great Egret and Snowy Egrets. Noticed that the water at the beach is actually pretty clear for July.
Before work. Little Magothy tour. Very overcast. Good pace.
Afternoon SUP. Lots of wind from West, so went to Little Magothy directly. Used as opportunity to test out new roof racks on Mazda. Saw the Kingfishers I hadn't seen in a while.
Afternoon paddle. Lots of wind from south, great upwind paddle in Little Magothy for a downwind ride out. Managed to get off the water in time to miss the big storms…
Before work. Met up with neighbors and paddled towards Persimmon Pt to see Osprey nest that is also shared by nesting sparrows. Continuted to Deep Creek and back to Little Magothy inlet marks. Saw rays at surface, watched the crabbers doing their thing. 100 days today!
Friday Night YCCSC Race. Singlehand, late to start again, caught up to the 2nd boat by end of race. Very nice sunset sail afterward.
