Afternoon SUP. Little Magothy Inlet Marks to Little Magothy Tour. Miss my good paddle… Very warm.
Century Club: Keith Chapman
Before Work. To Deep Creek and back. Water insanely clear, could see bottom well away from shore. Wind built for good upwind against the current workout on way back. Buffleheads and Canvasbacks!
Before Work. Beach restoration completed at main beach, all construction equipment and fencing is gone. Broke my good paddle before going out when the board tipped over on it. To Deep Creek and back. Nice morning, water exceptionally clear, Buffleheads and a good number of Canvasback.
Pamlico. Before Work. Little Magothy frozen, went to Deep Creek and back. Bay and Magothy had a lot of patches of ice. Water very clear, very cold and calm. Lots of Buffleheads and some Canvasback, Mallards and Geese.
Before Work. Little Magothy Tour. Ice only at top of LM. Saw two Bald Eagles, one finally stood still long enough for a picture. Lots of geese, some Buffleheads, a Black Back Gull.
Pamilico. Sunset paddle. Tour through Little Magothy, tried a few casts for Pickeral, no luck there. Canvasbacks in LM. Saw two V-22 Ospreys fly overhead. Drifted in the Bay for sunset with a beer.
Before Work. Little Magothy frozen, cold, and big snow storm forecast, so went to Deep Creek and back. Very calm before the storm, water very clear. Buffleheads!
Before Work. Beach restoration work still taking place, Little Magothy inlet being used by barges, so launched beach in between truck trips and went to Deep Creek and back. Very calm, lots of Buffleheads.
Pungo. Afternoon paddle testing out repaired drysuit (feet are warm again!). Not as cold as yesterday - more ice in Little Magothy but beach was clear. Little Magothy to Persimmon Pt. Bald Eagle, Buffleheads, Ruddy Ducks.
Pungo Kayak. Happy hour paddle. Very cold. Ice on beach at inlet and Little Magothy Pier so had to launch in the inlet in small clearing. Little Magothy where clear, then to Deep Creek and back. Ice forming on deck and spray cover. Beautiful sunset drifting for happy hour.
