It was a sunny but chilly and awesomely windy Sunday. We had five sporty races and I finished the last race after a spectacular capsize. I can tell you the water is quite chilly but refreshing! It was a really fun day and I am looking forward to next week.

Our beach rental house in Peurto Rico included a paddle board and ocean kayak. Neither boat was in great shape and the SUP was missing its fins which made paddling in a straight line neatly impossible. Several times I opted for a tow with Jeff in the kayak. But they count as water days!
The ILCA fleet frostbite series 2 started today. It was a beautiful sunny day. It was cold but with very little breeze. We got two races in and it was a beautiful day on the water!
SSA hosted a clinic sponsored by the ILCA class and CBYRA and taught by our own top level ILCA sailor, Leo Boucher. It was a very cold weekend but we learned a lot and enjoyed some great racing on Sunday.
It was our first really cold day of ILCA frostbite racing. Complete with frozen sheets, frozen cleats, frozen boom bang, frozen hands and frozen toes. My cockpit was full of slush and their were icicles on the bow. Thank goodness the breeze was manageable and we got in before the snow started.
We finiallu got around to hauling the Key West before the next winter storm. It was well below freezing with a moderate breeze. The wash down was a bit icy but we got the job done.
It was a soggy cold day with rain and much less wind then forecasted. But there was enough to run races and it was a day in the water.
It was a light breeze and unseasonably warm kind of day for the 2022 Ice Bowl. Thirteen ILCA dinghies raced up the Severn River to Round Bay and part way home before they shortened the course so we could finish before the time limit. The sailing was not very exciting but it was great to celebrate the new year on the water.
Day 1
It was a gusty and chilly northerly breeze for my 100th day on the water in 2021. We sailors six exciting races and I kept the boat right side up, well except for that one gybe.... anyway. It was a blast! Looking forward to another century in 2022.
It was a beautiful, sunny and breezy day on the Severn River. Conditions were ideal for some sporty Laser racing. It was a fun day on the water.
