Nice two hour sail around Mattox Creek.
Century Club: Alan Batcheller
Went paddleboarding on Mattox Creek for about an hour.
Afternoon sail around Mattox Creek.
Perhaps the most memorable day on the water thus far this year. My granddaughter Logan helped me drive the boat.
We took the Pontoon Boat to Horsehead Cliffs @ Westmoreland State Park, anchored, and just floated in our inflatable chairs for an hour or so. Great way to stay cool in the August heat.
A short ride on the Kiwi Kruzer to Stepp's Marinia to have the depth guage tweaked then out to the Potomac.
Pontoon Boat to Machodoc Creek Marina & Cafe. The cafe was a nice place to have lunch.
Paddleboard to Stepp's Marina.
Went out after lunch for what I was planning to be an hour or so and it turned into 3 + hours. Perfect wind from the east pushed me to the part of Mattox Creek that the watermen leave their boats. I was having too much fun to come home so I continued out to about ½ across the Potomac and debated if I should continue to Cobb Island. I saw another sailboat behind me, so I turned around to chat with him a bit. The wind had died down a bit, so I decided to motor back home as I’ve been meaning to try to figure out the range of my kicker. I wish every day could be like today.
