With this entry, I am logging my 10 boat work days. De-winterizing, cleaning, new marine toilet installation, caulking, scrubbing, polishing, etc., it is all counted and logged here.
Century Club: Bob Ohler
Paula and I sailed with Dave & Karen in the Patuxent Basin. The wind never quite materialized but the four of us took advantage of the opportunity and sailed together, just the 4 of us, one more time!
Steve and I repaired the furler foil and then tested our work. The new roll pin solved the problem.
Celebrating 44 years since I proposed to Paula, we sailed the Patuxent River Basin, simply enjoying our boat and spending quality time with each other! We followed up with a great dinner at Boomerang's with great conversation!
On a night when we did not race well, and everything went wrong, we flew a black flag in honor of Brian Steuart. Last place finish matched the somber mood. Tough evening for Sailing Team Barba Roja.
I did not realize the Bay was so choppy, so what I planned as an evening kayak trip turned into a short out and back kayak trip off tge beach.
We performed well for 75% of the race until the wind and weather changed just south of the gas docks.
With new sails and electronics, we beat our competition by just 11 seconds!
Marked the most commonly used SMSA race marks in the new GPS.
Steve and I tested the new head sail, and we were amazed at how much higher we were able to point.
