#90 - Some days the wind blows 3 and some days it blows 30. Today, it blew 3. The good news is the Annual Chili Cook-off was at the club following the race!
Century Club: Bob Ohler
#89 The wind held up for most of the day as we close reached to Hoopers, beam reached with spin to Point No Point, and then beat back up the Bay, around PR1, and then crossed the finished at PR3. Good crew of 5 handled the boat well. 44 nm, avg speed 5.2 knots.
#88 This was probably the coldest October sailing I have ever done! With a crew of 6, with me on main trim, we sailed out into the Bay, made the turn, and headed home in the dark. Did I say it was cold? It was!
#87 How else would sailors celebrate their anniversary, than by going sailing, of course? On a breezy day, with winds blowing right down the river, Paula and I sailed under full main and staysail, staying in the river, but we could have used a reef!
In blustery conditions on the Chesapeake, Sam and I sailed in 20 knot winds to the Eastern Shore and back. Sam is great crew to have on board!
#85 On a Wednesday evening, I finally got Sam and Jay out on the Aloha Spirit! We sailed to the bridge alongside Barba Roja, taking pictures of each other's boats. We docked in the dark. A great evening!
#84 For the first time since August, I sailed single-handed today. I had all three sails up, and then the wind died before I could make the Solomons bridge. Still, it is great to be getting my mojo back!
Steve and I sailed on Aloha Spirit, trying out the new main sail. Steve was impressed with the speed and handling of our boat.
Steve Birchfield did it again. He got me back out on the water after a surgery. It was great to be back out there and as an extra bonus, we saw Dave Ohler making a powerboat delivery.
We took out the Grampian and sailed the Rhode and West Rivers, until the clock said that it was time to head back. We had great wind and temps on the river!
