With our mainsail ripping the previous day during the Hooper Point/No-Point Race, we decided to hop on the sailboat the following day and motor out to see how the fleet was fairing and take some photos. The winds were 15-25 with some higher gusts so it was a lot of fun to watch. Check out the SMSA Facebook page to see the photos and video of the days sailing.

Had a great start to the race, wind picked up as we crossed the bay and with under 2 miles to getting to the first mark of the course, jibed the boat and the mainsail ripped. Oh well...next year. We saw numerous gust between 25-32 kts.
Had one of our families long time friends come and visit, so of course had to take him sailing. Got out into the river and of course...no wind, but it was a pleasant evening none the less.
Although the wind didn't cooperate, it was a beautiful day to just be outside and on the water. Great friendship, snacks & of course beverages with a lovely sunset. Saw several other SMSA sailors who had the same idea.
Two days on the water on the RC boat. The breeze was up and several of our sailors went swimming with two boats needing to be towed in (one on it's side, and one very water logged boat trying not to sink) on Day 2. All sailors were uninjured, in some cases some boat repairs will be needed, but all in good spirits. Needless to say we were busy on RC.
With Wednesday racing over for the season, took advantage of the georgous weather to kayak around the creeks in Solomons, MD
Beautiful day for a sail. Out from Solomons towards the eastern shore, back into the Patuxent past Point Patience to Cuckold Creek and back to the dock.
Decided to sail on a beautiful Wednesday evening when we finally had some wind. Tried out the spinnaker furler...again...and still not the results we are looking for. So we'll be visiting the Harken booth at the boat show.
Took Mark's folks for a ride when they were in town. Think they like powerboats better.
Decided to spend Labor Day Weekend on the water. Rafted up with some good friends and in the following days had visitors from our mutual group of friends. Even had a crab feast on the back of one of the boats.
