Took a long dinghy ride around Jackson Creek in Deltavillle then came back and worked on the boat a bit. Topped it off with a relaxing dip in the Deltaville Marina pool.
Woke up to dead calm conditions in Mill Creek. After making some minor repairs related to the shift linkage, we motored home to Deltaville Marina on Jackson Creek, cleaned up the boat and headed back to Virginia Beach just in time to spend an hour in traffic trying to get across the HRBT.
Left the Corrotoman at around 10 AM and had a nice sail tacking down the Rappahannock into 10 kts of SE breeze. Rounded Windmill Point and had a fabulous close reach in 10-14 kts all the way back to Mill Creek. Comfortable temps, no storms - it doesn’t get much better this time of year.
Decided to stay put at anchor off Sandy Point. Took Patti ashore for a run then took andinghy ride around to Yankee Point Marina.
Another drifter of a day! Left Mill Creek in N winds at around 8 kts which held until just N or Windmill Pt Light. Motored up the Rappahannock to the Corrotoman and anchored behind Sandy Point on the Eastern Branch.
Left Deltaville Marina mid-morning without any particular destination in mind. Sailed north with a light SE breeze but enough to keep us moving at 2-3 kts. Pretty day compared to the last two! After a couple of hours, we decided to sail up to Mill Creek near Reedville and anchor for the night. Evening t-storms are on the way...
Took the paddleboard down to the beach for a quick paddle. Dolphin didn’t show up until after I was back on shore. Maybe next time!
Took the dinghy back to Deltaville and took another ride from Broad Creek around Stingray Point to Deltaville Marina. Put the genoa back up from hurricane preps to get ready for next week.
