Stayed in Mill Creek and went for dinghy ride out the mouth and up the creek adjacent to Dameron Marsh. Visited with friends who live ashore and got a tour of the new house.

Left Marina and sailed out of Piankatank in light SW wind. Made about 4 kts on outgoing tide. Once we got out of the river and tried to turn more to the North, SOG dropped to 2-3 kts. Wind went to SE and dropped to 4 kts while boat speed dropped to 2 kts. Around 1 PM, SOG dropped under 1kt. Started motor and motor sailed for 1 hour when wind suddenly picked up to W@15kts. Set genoa again and sailed the rest of the way to Mill Creek at 7+ kts. Peaceful night at anchor.
Launched Makaira and motored around Jackson Creek for a while checking some of my repairs out. After replacing shift/throttle cables, idle speed is way too high and I adjusted accordingly when I returned to slip in Deltaville Marina.
Left Hampton City Marina and sailed/motor sailed up the Bay to Deltaville Marina. Arrived Jackson Creek at 11:45AM and haued out Makaira at 2:45PM.
Left Coinjock at 6 AM and motored up ICW to Hampton. Got delayed for quite a while at Gilmerton RR bridge waiting for two separate trains to pass. Got a slip at Hampton City Pier while I find a place to haul out.
Left Tuckahoe Pt at 6 AM after watching a gorgeous sunrise. Motored in light and variable winds to Coinjock Marina.
Left Whitaker Point at 6:30 AM in light NW wind. Wind picked up to 20kts once I was out in the main Neuse River. Outgoing tide made it a little sloppy. Quite cool temperature of 56o. Motored up Alligator/Pungo canal as wind died throughout the day. Anchored off Tuckahoe Point in about 8’ of water at 5:15 PM
Left Mile Hammock at 6 AM and motored up ICW to Oriental in SW20-25kts. Stopped at Whitaker Point Marina.
Much nicer day! Motored up Cape Fear River and ICW to Mile Hammock Bay and anchored with about 10 other boats.
Much nicer morning at the Marina with winds from the North at 15-20 kts and forecast to lighten as day went on. Left Safe Harbor South Harbor Village mid-morning and motored short distance up ICW to the Cape Fear River. Wind was MUCH stronger in the river and I proceeded to get my butt handed to me as I motored up the river with an incoming tide of about 2.5-3 kts and N wind that was 25G30kts dead on the nose! Incredibly steep and short chop had Makaira pitching such that the bow/anchor roller were submerged alternating with prop cavitation! Very unproductive with boat speeds in the 2-3kt range at best After about 3 miles, decided to turn around and head back to the marina and lick my wounds!
