Left Brunswick Landing at 7:15 and motored to Wahoo River. Lots of green eyed flies today! Anchored near mouth and spent a peaceful night.
Century Club: Wally Parolari
Stayed put at Brunswick Landing relaxing and waiting for favorable weather and tides for the upcoming shallow areas on the ICW.
Left anchorage at 7:45 in NE wind at 20kts. Much nicer day, even with the wind. Winds picked up to 20-25 mid-day and persisted rest of day. WInd made crossing of St. Andrews Sound very challenging! Thought seriously about stopping but there were no real protected areas nearbyso i decided to continue on and suffered accordingly. Had very rough crossing of the inlet with waves breaking over the bow continually as I approached R32 from the SW then on the beam as I rounded and turned NW. Was seriously concerned about bouncing on the bottom! Very short period chop in 10’ of water at best. Below decks was a mess by the time I got into calm water! Arrived Brunswick Landing Marina at 4:15.
Left mooring ball at St Augustine at 7:30 headed north up the ICW and shortly thereafter motored into heavy rain. Rained all day with brisk N wind but little lightening. Very heavy rain on occasion. Anchored off Harris Creek at 4:30PM in continuing rain. 59o felt like the dead of winter after the Bahamas!
Stayed on mooring ball at St. Augustine. Went ashore daily. Went for one long group dinghy ride exploring the San Sebastian River. Had a fire drill of sorts when a friend came in from offshore on a cat with serious engine problems. Very strong S wind and current made it an all hands effort to get him on a ball! Had to use two dinghies as pusher tugs!!
Went ashore with Patti in the dinghy for showers after which she left for her drive back to Virginia Beach. Sad day.
Dinghied to shore and got Patti’s rental car for her trip home Walked around town for a while then had dinner with friends aboard thier boat.
Left daytona Beach anchorage at 7:30 and motored about 55 miles up the ICW to St. Augustine Municipal Marina and got a mooring ball. Arrived around 3:30
Motored from Titusville to Daytona Beach. Anchored across from Halifax Harbor Marina on east side of river.
Vero Beach to Titusville mooring ball. (Day 79)
