Went for a 2.25 mile morning paddle on the new Nalu.  Took a little getting used to and I went for an unintended swim along the way!

Went for a 2 mile paddle this morning to see how my hand would do post-surgery.  Very stiff and a little painful but not so much as to not do it again!

Left Mill Creek and sailed downwind to Fishing Bay in N wind that started at 15 and dropped to 10 as we rounded Stingray Point.  Anchored up near the yacht club and enjoyed pretty nice fireworks from a few private residences on Stove Point as well as larger displays in the distance.

Left Deltaville Marina at around 10:30 headed to Indian Creek.  Sailed out of Piankatank in N wind @10kts.  Made 5 kts SOG to the ESE in strong outgoing tide.  Over-stood layline to Windmill Point (I thought) to take drift into consideration but when we tacked, SOG dropped to 1-2 kts with a track that took us straight up the Rappahanock River!  After about 45 minutes, gave up and motorsailed around Windmill Point then sailed closehauled toward mouth of Indian Creek at about 5kts.  It was such nice sailing that we decided to change plans and sail for several more hours to Mill Creek.  During the afternoon, wind picked up to N at 15-17 kts and we beat upwind into a moderate chop.  The closer we got to Smith Point, the rougher it got (as usual).  Reefed the genoa and pressed on.  Motorsailed the last mile to the mouth of the Great Wicomeco, then sailed to Mill Creek entrance.

Left anchorage at 7:30 and decided to go back to Deltaville Marina to sit out forecast storms and go to Kilmarnock or Richmond to get Patti a new cell phone.  Arrived 10:30 AM and found all my lines jacked up.  As predicted, lots of storms rolled through while we were out getting the phone in Kilmarnock.

Left Corrotoman at 11 AM and sailed up to Urbanna in light wind.   Town dock dockmaster was waiting for us to dock for water and a pumpout.  Afterwards, anchored right across from dock, dinghied ashore and walked to market.  Returned to boat and decided there was insufficient room with number boats and crabpots around and the chance of storms.  Pulled up anchor and sailed downriver to Carters Creek and anchored in Eastern Branch.  Went for a long dinghy ride to Yopps Cove and up the creek past Tides Inn.

Left Mill Creek at 8 AM and sailed south to Windmill Point in N wind at 15 kts SOG 6.5-7 kts.  Rounded Windmill Point Light and turned up the Rappahannock River and sailed to bridge at 7.5 kts.  Wind started dying just as we went under the bridge and we sailed the rest of the way to the mouth of the Corrotoman in light N-NW winds them motored up river to Sandy Point and anchored at 3 PM.  Went for a long dinghy ride scouting spots for Patti to go ashore for a run.
