Late day kayak.I think it almost hit 89 degrees out, 86 when I went out. Went out to marker 9 towards Steppes Marina. Had the whole body of water ALL to myself until another boat went by. How rude!

Someone else's mast.
We feel their pain.
Long kayak across the creek to the point, where Mattox Creek joins up with the Potomac. Tried to catch Alan who was sailing but he never saw me. Saw Osprey on other people's sailboats. Alan had spent a lot of time and energy thwarting the birds from sitting on his mast with 100% success. Cleaning off all the osprey poop stains off his boat was another challenge. He should hire himself out.

Cloudy and humid, around 74 degrees. Rained all yesterday and tied up for several days and not able to get out on the water until today. Kayaked across the creek to the swamp kayak trail and ventured in. Lots of wildlife of course no one would stay still long enuf to pose for a pic

Afternoon kayak for me and paddleboard for Alan. Not that windy but the waves were very choppy. Disturbed several osprey. Beautiful day out. Especially since I made 5 gallons of ale today, now fermenting along with the 5 gallons of cabernet made yesterday. Busy times these spring days.

Beautiful day.
Got the pontoon boat out of storage at the marina and had a great trip on the Potomac in beautiful weather. Calm, sunny, minimal wind... We had the entire river (that we could see) to ourselves. Only one sailboat out there that we briefly saw. Love having an entire body of water of my own. But when we got back the power had gone out thus no boat lift so had to wait until later to lift it out of the water.

Swells coming from the river.
Filled my day with yard work, rototilled the garden, planted lettuce, beets and radish seeds, also peanuts. Went for my daily 3 mile walk and ended the day with a nice kayak around the creek. Very windy and the creek had huge swells coming out of the east, instead of the usual choppy waves with the occasional white caps. Not sure I've ever seen this phenomenon before. I wonder what the river looked like.

Went out in the afternoon to watch Alan out his sailboat. Took a few pics, paddled around a but I was in shorts and t-shirt and at 51 degrees and pretty breezy, I got really cold so back in I went.

New sail
Alan and I went out in his 15 foot Precision today for a couple of hours. He got a new mainsail as the old was was looking like it had had a hard life. Trying to learn all the parts of a sailboat and points of sail as we are going to take the ASA 101 class in June. I drove the boat for the first half when the wind was barely there and Alan the second half when the wnd picked up. It was chilly out but nice to be out on the water.
