Hadn't take the Kiwi Kruzer out for a few weeks. Had some friends visit so took them out on the Potomac. A little rough out but not bad. Cooler days out these days but didn't need anything more than shorts and tee shirts.

Alan and I went across the creek to check out a nice sailboat we've seen around. No one around to ask if we could crew sometime. Very nice afternoon weather wise.

Big storm headed my way, me in a small kayak.
Had been rainy and stormy on and off all day, but after the commanders game it looked like I had a 2 hour window of clear weather. Set off across the creek into a strong wind. Got to the other side, turned around and then saw a huge black cloud coming my way. I hauled across the creek and the wind picked up blowing every which way. High waves didn't help my mild panic. By the time I was halfway across the black clouds had taken up about 3/4 of the sky and i could hear the thunder.. I dont know how I did it but I made it home before the storm hit. Was even able to put the kayak away, rinse my feet and get into the house with plenty of time to spare. Last time I trust The Weather Channel and their doppler.

At least I went out at 5 when it was a touch cooler. Kayaked around the creek. Fairly windy out. Got too close to a bunch of geese and cranes and flipped them out.

Paddled across the creek to find a water path thru the grasses someone told us about. Geese everywhere. Ospreys are all gone now.

Went out on kayak while Alan paddleboarded. Checked out the abandoned sailboat in the creek that's been there for a few years. Also checked our a recently sold waterfront house were they've been cutting down all the water front trees presumably to improve their view. Nor sure how legal that is. But nice day on the water.

Went out into the creek to sail around with Alan. He let me be the captain for a while. Pretty windy and the wind direction kept changing so was a challenge. Fun out on the water tho!

Went out across the creek in my kayak to check out a little dog I see all the time but he wasn't there. On Aug 24 somehow got entered twice and I can not delete or edit it to this day. So I will put 0 days on this entry just so my number of days are correct.
