Went across the creek to see if the swans were still around. They were. Very windy. I swear, the wind was blowing against me on the way as well as when I was returning. It alwsys knows where I am headed and tries to thwart my paddling efforts. Creepy.

Took the grands out for a morning ride on the river. The older 2 got a chance to drive the boat with Captain Alan

Grandkids came today so had to put up the section of barrier I had taken down so our kayaks and paddleboard could get out to the creek. Swept up about 20 jellies from inside our "safe pool". Kids had a blast playing in the water. 1 grandson got stung but didn't seem to bother him much after the first 5 minutes of complaining about it being itchy. The barrier definitely works. Lots of jellies outside of it, almost none inside.

The zip ties have been breaking off my homemade jellyfish barrier off our beach. They are essential as they attach the fence netting to the pool noodles. Upon investigating I discovered the fencing was getting covered in silt and mud, thus making them heavier. So I replaced the broken zip ties via kayak, and will take the barrier out after this weekend to clean them after the grands leave. Always something. Also disturbed a family of ducks when going to the beach to get my kayak.

Took the Kiwi kruzer to Horsehead cliffs and sat in our floaty chairs with, of course, beer. Saw only 1 jellyfish. Also watched an Osprey with a fish. Perfect way to spend my 70th bday. Thank you Alan.

Depth gauge on the Kiwi Kruzer has not been working for around 2 months so we took it in to Harbor View Marina to get it checked out. Was fortunately a simple fix. We boated out to the Potomac to test it. Choppy out but not too bad. I was able to dock the boat without any mishaps. Hot hot day out there.
