Spent the day on Rascal to enjoy some great weather. Sailed up to the key bridge and got a lot of helm time and good speed getting there. Went around Fort Carroll then back up into the harbor to end the day. Thanks Maggie for the picture.

Went into AP shortly after getting out in the harbor due to commercial traffic. Waited out the ships and had a clean downwind start. Had some trouble with our spinnaker hardware during the downwind legs and got stuck behind a ship altering our course. We were able to make some gains on the long upwind run to the finish and got a close-up view of the navy ships at their dock. Overall a challenging race for the boat and crew and a reminder that anything that can happen will happen.

Back to racing after being out of town. Wind started off at a workable 8-10kts at the beginning of the race but a little after rounding the first mark and getting our spin up it died down to nothing and we sailed into a hole. RC shortened the course and we made a slow crawl to the finish. Thanks Lynn and Maggie for the photos.

An ominous forecast led to the race being canceled as everyone was getting to the boat but we decided to go out anyway to get in some practice with the new sails. Jonathan was in town so he got to see Incorrigible for the first time. We had a good long upwind leg and spent some time adjusting to the new jib before tacking around to a fast downwind run under the new spin. A heavy gust rounded us up and we had to quickly get the spin down but everyone remained calm and we got it down without issue. The storms never materialized so I'm glad we were still able to get out on the water.

Little bit short on crew but decided to race non-spin anyway since we had two new people with us. After a challenging start we found our groove and had some good upwind legs. With no spin our downwind legs were a bit slow but we were able to keep up our momentum with some wing on wing. I trimmed main for the first time in a while which was a good learning expereince. We had great communication between all the crew.

Supposed to be the last race of series 2 but a storm rolled through shortly before leaving the dock and took all our wind with it. Our new genoa came in so the sailmaker came out with us to give some pointers and best practices to maximize performance. The wind filled in shortly after the race was cancelled so we stayed out for a while to learn about the new sail. Got a nice close up of the Pride of Baltimore II when we came in since it was docked at Port Covington.

Spent the morning on the Barba Roja with my brother and parents. Winds were very light but we were able to get up to the bridge to look around. Played musical drivers so everyone got a little time at the helm, though I think my mom would prefer to just be a passenger. Thanks to Steve for taking us and for the pictures.

Went on the Spicy Meatball with Jonathan for the 4th. We had perfect conditions of a steady 8-10kts so we went 20 miles over near NAS Pax River, out into the bay to little cove point, and back under the bridge before coming home to show off the red white and blue spinnaker to the boardwalk. Jonathan let me drive almost the entire time and I didn't capsize the boat so I'm counting it as a win.

I was down in Southern MD for the 4th and my brother invited me to crew on Dangerous while I was there. We had a strong start and good upwind leg but lost a little time on the first downwind leg due to some spinnaker issues. Raced up and around the bridge with a finish close to the island. RC set up a great course and I enjoyed getting to sail with by brother and some other friends. Thanks to the SMSA RC for the pictures.
