First race on Incorrigible for the season. Started learning foredeck to take-over that position this year. After some final prep we sailed to the start and hit an unfortunate lull in the breeze as we were heading for the line. The wind quickly picked back up and we had a strong run down to the bridge and back. Put up a spin for a quick leg near the race and executed a difficult douse well. Good to be learning a new position in depth and looking forward to doing more with that in the future.

Helped take incorrible over to MarineMax to be hauled and have the bottom cleaned for the first BCYA race of the season. Spent some time on the helm on the way back and was neat to see the haul out process.
Helped get the winter cover off and folded, filled up the gas, got the engine started and batteries charged up while doing some other cleaning and prep for the BCYA season.
Went with Jonathan to catch the last of the warm weather before it got cold again. Went partway out to the river but turned around because of the strong wind. Ducked up in another creek then went back to the dock before the temps dropped too much.
Practice sail on Red Baron to get some of the crew up to speed for the SMSA season starting. Did main and learned from Jonathan's coaching.
Met up with Jonathan and some of the folks from Dangrous at SMSA for a blustery paddle up mill creek
Eighth Deadly Sin - helped reassemble backstay adjustor & cleaned hull
Out on Red Baron (Olson 29) for the first SMSA frostbite race of the season. RC set an engaging course and moderately heavy wind kept things interesting. Did some work at the mast and foredeck including troubleshooting a difficult sail change. Finished 6th out of 10 which was slower than I expected based on how the race felt. Glad to be back on the water and looking forward to a good season! Thanks Steve for the picture
Cold night on the Barba Roja for my last sail of the year. Wind was very light so we motored up to the bridge and were able to roll out the headsail briefly on the way home. Good end to the 2024 season and looking forward to getting back out on the water next year.
Came down the road for Thanksgiving and was able to get in a quick sail on my way down. Ran across the basin in Solomons and back as the sun was going down. Good practice time on the helm.
