Heavy winds and chop as we went out to the racecourse so RC cancelled for the evening. Decided to stay out for a little bit and saw 7.2kts surfing down a wave with just the main up. One crew member commented about sailing all the way back to the dock which turned into a challege. We almost had it but a gust right at the end pushed us too fast to get in the slip and we threw on the motor to finish docking.

Strong start and first upwind leg, rounded and set the spin for a good downwind leg, rounded and had a little trouble getting the jib back up but some quick problem solving from the crew worked out the problems. Finished the rest of the upwind leg and set the spin again for a smooth finish.
Wind was significantly better than the forecasted 4kts. Had a slightly delayed start into a long upwind leg. Prepared the spin for launch but accidentally fouled the halyard on one of the spreaders, put in two quick tacks to fix the issue and then had a clean launch and douse. rounded for another upwind leg then another short downwind run under spin to the finish. Overall a very clean race and 3rd across the line.
The weather was so great I wanted to get out on the water despite the small craft advisory. Dropped in at green haven wharf, paddled up to the end of stoney creek then out to the drawbridge and back. Wind was pretty strong on the way out to the bridge and calmed down on the way back.
Started on time this week (good improvement) with a full crew. Had a strong run up to the first mark, rounded, and set the spin shortly before the wind turned off. Executed a pretty messy gybe and had to troubleshoot some twisting of the sail. RC shortened the course as the wind did a 180 to the next mark and watched the fleet take off upwind. Had a strong run to the finish and enjoyed a great sunset on the ride home. I still have a lot to learn on the foredeck but I'm glad to be getting the experience.
Smooth start and clean racing from everyone on board. Executed a couple of downwind gybes well with a relatively new mast person. Slight tactical hiccup at the finish but overall a good race.
Had a few more projects to do on Sin before the race including going up the mast to run the spinnaker halyard so we started a few minutes late. Rounded the first mark and had a nice reach back to the first mark. Ran around to a different mark for the third leg and then back to the finish.
RC set an interesting course down near the bridge and back, came in a little late on the start but had strong upwind legs and much cleaner bow work than last week. Learned how to tack the jib after a gybe and enjoyed a smooth run to the finish.
Delivered Eighth Deadly Sin from Oak Harbor to her summer home. Did a few small projects while we were underway. Great weather and a beautiful sunset coming down the bay.
First BCYA Tuesday night of the season. Short legs led to chaos and confusion as we tried to fly the spin on the downwind legs. Thanks to Lynn for the pictures.
