Heavy air day, ended up a little late for the start but had a strong race and got to use the heavy air spinnaker for both of the downwind legs. The crew is starting to build skills and work really well together so I'm excited to see what the rest of the season brings.

Crowded start at the line led into a relatively smooth first upwind leg. Ran into a small rights issue as someone was trying to cross us but no contact and we got ahead anyway. Rounded the first mark, had a smooth spin set and gybe on the way down to the second mark. Another smooth douse and rounding back to the first mark and made good time on the fleet. Wind turned off right before the finish so I trimmed the spin from the rail and one more gybe into a tiny bit of breeze got us across the line. Thanks Lynn for the pictures.
Out on Red Baron (Olson 29) for a casual Sunday sail. Went up to the bridge then back down the river and out into the bay by Cove Point. Wind was a little gusty but made for good speed and it was good to get back on the water after missing both of my normal weekday races last week.
Paddled from SMSA all the way up Mill Creek into St. John's Creek then around to Spring Cove and back.
Paddled off Clarkes Landing, down around the bridge, up into Little Kingston Creek and back to the launch point
In Delaware for the holiday weekend and got an invite to sail on a friend of a friend's Pearson 365 in Lewes. Went for a very choppy reach across part of the bay before turning around and going back. It was a unique expereince sailing on a boat that's very different from what I'm used to.
Heavy winds and chop as we went out to the racecourse so RC cancelled for the evening. Decided to stay out for a little bit and saw 7.2kts surfing down a wave with just the main up. One crew member commented about sailing all the way back to the dock which turned into a challege. We almost had it but a gust right at the end pushed us too fast to get in the slip and we threw on the motor to finish docking.
Strong start and first upwind leg, rounded and set the spin for a good downwind leg, rounded and had a little trouble getting the jib back up but some quick problem solving from the crew worked out the problems. Finished the rest of the upwind leg and set the spin again for a smooth finish.
Wind was significantly better than the forecasted 4kts. Had a slightly delayed start into a long upwind leg. Prepared the spin for launch but accidentally fouled the halyard on one of the spreaders, put in two quick tacks to fix the issue and then had a clean launch and douse. rounded for another upwind leg then another short downwind run under spin to the finish. Overall a very clean race and 3rd across the line.
The weather was so great I wanted to get out on the water despite the small craft advisory. Dropped in at green haven wharf, paddled up to the end of stoney creek then out to the drawbridge and back. Wind was pretty strong on the way out to the bridge and calmed down on the way back.
