Racing Roundup July 13-15

The weekend started on a tragic note at the convergence of the Chester and Corsica Rivers. The 32-foot log canoe Mystery capsized—an ordinary event, as all log canoe sailors know—yet one of the 17 crew members was not accounted for after the capsize. After a search and rescue operation, including many in the log canoe family who came as far as the Miles River to help, on Sunday morning rescuers found the body of Stephanie Meredith, 35, of Easton.

505 Worlds Windy Thursday Live! (The first edition of this post said it was Windy Wednesday... and we made it through the entire day without anyone saying a word--it's Thursday!)

Waiting for wind this week at the SAP 505 World Championships hosted jointly by Severn Saiilng Association and Eastport Yacht Club proved to be worth it, as today's wonderful 13-16 knot winds are most welcome for the 89 competing boats. Watch the action live here:
