Saw a small shore bird as I was paddling out of the marina that I had not seen before. Turns out it was a black crowned night heron. Definitely a few boats out enjoying the warmer temps.

Took the paddle board out on Assawoman Canal once the temperatures warmed up a bit. 50F, cloudy, with winds 13 mph from the NNW at time of launch (10:55 am). Definitely a bit of a work out heading out as the wind and current were against me heading to the Central Avenue bridge. Made for a very pleasant paddle back to the ramp.
Escape splashed this morning and we heading up the bay bound for our slip off the Magothy. 44F, raining, with winds 8 mph from the NE at time of departure (11:30am). Passed under the Bay Bridge at 12:26 and we're at the dock at 1:50pm. Rain died down once we passed Sany Point light.
Took the paddle board out on Bear Point Cove and opted to hug the Lee shore as the breeze made the paddle a bit more challenging. 75F, mostly cloudy, with winds 13 mph from the SE at time of launch (8:20 am). Always enjoyable exploring along the mangroves. Just one ray encounter but not able to catch a photo.
Got up a little earlier to walk the dog before sunrise. Took the paddle board out at Bear Point Cove. 73F, mostly cloudy, with winds 15 mph out of the SSE at time of launch (7:35 am). Didn't follow my typical route as it was a bit too breezy out near the abandoned pier and the Manatee sign. Stayed close to shore and got a good, uneventful paddle in. Fair number of anglers out as it is the weekend.
