I helped Ellie by crewing on Luna Sea for a trip to the fuel dock.  It was a gorgeous afternoon for a Spa Creek cruise.  We caught some glimpses of the sailboat show build up.

Our annual trip to Fishing Bay Yacht Club for the ILCA Chesapeake Masters regatta was a blast.  The winds were light but the RC did a fantastic job at getting in races.  Of course the dinner was amazing as always.  Alrealy looking forward to next year!

After some research and part/tool searching we got our hands on what we needed  to fix the Suzuki and get back on the water.  We took a boat ride to Galesville and had lunch at and a crush at Stan and Joe's Riverside.  It was a nice day for a powerboat ride.

We chartered a Melges-15 for the SSA Fall Series.  Sadly, there was not enough breeze to race.  But we learned to rig the boat and had a pleasant sail to the race course.  Maybe next time!

We took off in Terrapin for our annual southern bay adventure.  We had favorable winds the whole trip with a strong northerly the first four days taking us all the way to Cape Charles under sail.  We caught a few fish and explored some islands along the way.  We explored Cape Charles the best way, by golf cart including 18 holes at Bay Creek, lounging on the beach, Brown Dog Ice Cream and the Cape Charles Brewing Company.  Oh, and two amazing Italian meals at DeadRise!  After three nights at Cape Charles Yacht Center we sailed north in a strong southerly breeze, stopping overnight in Crisfield to have dinner with my folks.  We made it back to Solomons before the storms and rain with two huge fish we caught under sail.  A perfect sailing vacation, except it wasn't long enough!

We sailed Terrapin up the Patuxent for a raft up with our marina friends on Battle Creek.  It was a lovely day for a sail, downwind the whole way in a strong southerly.  We sailed all the way into the anchorage and dropped the hook without starting the diesel.  Then we blew up the dinghy and joined the others at powerboat raft.  Fun times and cocktails we had.  Sunday we motored back home with a pit stop at Clark's Landkng for orange crushes with Jeff's volleyball friends.

It was a light and lumpy weekend in Annapolis for the ILCA summer series at SSA.  We had four races on Saturday in a dying northeast breeze.  Sunday we had one long and excruciatingly light race.  I ended up in second place for the ILCA fleet.  Great competition but we could have used a big more wind!
