We escaped the cold flying to Jacksonville and visiting our dear friends in Fernandina Beach, FL. They took us for a run by slightly chilly boat ride in their Tiki pontoon boat. We cruised the ICW up to Cumberland Island, GA where we hiked the national park/ seashore. We saw wild horses, live oaks, ruins of the Carnage Mansion and armadillos! Our return was slightly delayed due to a submarine leaving the base at Kings Bay, GA. A super cool day indeed!

I flew to Sunday California with teammates from the SSA Snipe fleet to represent SSA at this annual women's sailing event. SDYC does a fantastic job hosting this event. Short course fleet racing in their club owned J/22's. Teams from yacht clubs from all over the US, Canada and Mexico. Yoga every morning follows by rotations of racing and amazing food and mimosas on shore. There is even live commentary and DJ music to keep the sailors and spectators entertained. Definitely a unique event and I hope to return someday!

Saturday we drifted out but didn't get in any racing. The forecast for Sunday was also bleak but the RC did a great job waiting for the breeze and we got in five races. We had tight racing in the ILCA 6 fleet and I edged out on top narrowly ahead of the amazing sailors Kim Couranz and Pam Corwin. What a fun day to celebrate 100!!
thanks to Ted Morgan for the amazing photos!!
We had our last cruise of the season on Terrapin. The bay was too choppy to cross so we headed up the Pax River and anchored on St. Leonard Creek. What a beautiful spot! Sunday we were back in the marina taking our last dinghy ride before we packed her up the season. So sad!
